Lossiemouth High School

Enabling works contract to provide a working platform across the site for the new high school, producing stabilised piling mats for the internal areas and reducing external make-ups.

Project challenges / GDL solutions

• Working alongside existing live school and occupied housing meant that keeping disruption to a minimum was critical.
• Winter working so dark nights and freezing conditions made the process more complex.

Project benefits for the client

• By forming working platforms across the entirety of the site the follow-on civil engineering and building works were simplified and the programmes reduced.
• Reduction in export / import requirements provided financial savings as well as minimising disruption to the local community and reducing the carbon footprint of the contract.
